OUR SUPPORTERS
We support Our Healthy Clarence because mental health is an important issue that needs more understanding and compassion from the greater community. We have seen the effects of depression, and drug and alcohol abuse in our families so it is an issue close to our heart. We are all for supporting a cause that aims to bring more services to the local community to provide a support network for those in need.
The Clarence Valley Independent supports “Our Healthy Clarence” because as a community newspaper local people and their needs are at the heart of our organisation. We provide a reliable and familiar source of information to people and carer’s who need access to local services and assistance. The Clarence Valley Independent will continue to support “Our Healthy Clarence” into the future helping to ensure the future wellbeing of the people of the Clarence Valley.
I was honoured to be working on a project with real community benefit and foresight. I feel the website we've created together embodies a feeling of health and positive attitude. I hope those in need can use this site as a tool toward help and overall wellness.

We support Our Healthy Clarence because the values and goals align directly with the Light Up the Darkness (LUD) charter. LUD was established to raise awareness of the lack of mental health support programs in the Lower Clarence and lobby for their implementation and raise awareness of what services were available to the community. LUD facilitated community forums which included many support agencies, community organisations and the local community.
As a business in the community and well known person within the community I feel this program is well overdue and a testament to what can be done with the right individuals steering the program. Much needed and well earned, this program could change the collective health of the whole Valley.
